How it works

01Drop your .ply Raw 3DGS export from Scaniverse, Polycam, Luma, Postshot or your own training run.
02Tune three simple sliders Invisible dust, fog & veils, giant spikes. Live before/after with the same camera.
03Download the cleaned file Same format, fewer gaussians. One free command away from a ~10× smaller .spz.

Why it doesn’t wreck your scene

Most “auto-clean” tools run statistical outlier removal. On real captures it eats thin structures and surface edges — we measured it: SOR removed just 1.5% of gaussians and still produced visible clumps and holes, while a well-tuned per-gaussian pass removed 25% with no visible damage. SplatClean uses only per-gaussian rules that cannot punch holes in real geometry — and shows you a same-camera before/after so you can verify every change.

Private by architecture

Parsing, filtering and export run entirely in your browser. Nothing is uploaded anywhere — open DevTools and watch the network tab: zero requests with your data. Scan NDA-covered products and client work without a second thought.

Busy? We’ll tune it for you

FAQ

What formats are supported?

Raw 3DGS .ply (all-float properties). Got .spz, .splat or .compressed.ply? Convert first with the free npx @playcanvas/splat-transform scene.spz scene.ply.

How big a file can it handle?

~500 MB is comfortable in a desktop browser (a 287 MB / 1.16M-gaussian scene parses in ~2 s, re-filters in ~300 ms). Bigger files are on the roadmap via streaming.

Is it really free?

The in-browser tool is free. Hand-tuned done-for-you cleanup is $12/scene.

Why not just use SuperSplat?

SuperSplat is a great manual editor — you select and delete by hand. SplatClean is the automatic pass you run first: one click removes the dust and fog, then polish by hand if needed.

Does it compress my scene?

Cleanup reduces gaussian count; for size, pair it with the free open .spz codec (~10× smaller). We deliberately don’t rebrand free compression as our feature.
